Howie’s back

After a four-year absence, Howie Mandel is coming back to Ames for a one-night performance.

Mark your calendar for Nov. 10; that’s the magical date that the crazy man from “St. Elsewhere” returns to C.Y. Stephens Auditorium. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $22.50 and are on sale Monday Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster locations.

“Mixed media” at Gallery 181

The next time you find yourself in the Design Center, you might want to take a stroll over to Gallery 181 to view a student exhibit.

Until next Monday, several paintings by Scott Pease, a senior in art and design, will be on display. The exhibit includes watercolors, oils and other types of paint. “There’s definitely mixed media in all of them,” Pease said.

Viewing hours are from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. everyday.
