Peterson gets Big Eight honor

Iowa State’s women’s cross country runner Jana Peterson has been honored as the women’s Big Eight Conference Runner-of-the-Month for September.

Peterson, from Webster City, had three steady performances during that month. She won the Northern Iowa Open with a season-best 17:35 in the 5,000 meters. Peterson also placed third at the Illinois State Open and placed 14th at the Nike Invitational this past weekend.

Student season ticket lottery

The men’s basketball student season ticket lottery sale will take place Oct. 9-13. The $60 season ticket includes 12 games. Lottery tickets can be purchased at the Olsen Building Ticket Office, or in the lobby outside the University Bookstore in the Memorial Union.

Tickets may be purchased individually or by a selected coordinator, and must be paid for with one check. The maximum number of tickets in a block is eight. The lottery winners will be posted in the Daily. For more information call the ticket office at 294-1816.

Football tickets still available

A limited number of reserved tickets remain for the Iowa State-Oklahoma game on Oct. 7. Reserved tickets for the 1:00 p.m. game may be purchased for $18 at the Olsen Building Ticket Office or ordered through the mail. Phone orders can be made by calling Ticketmaster in Ames at 233-1888.

Hillside tickets will be available the day of the game. Those tickets are $9 for adults and students, and $6 for children age 12 and under. Ticket office hours are Mon.-Fri. 7:30-5:30.
