It’s here. The sidewalks are painted; the lawn displays are being built; the football team is ready. Homecoming 1995 is just around the corner.

Ten students, five men and five women, have been named to the 1995 Homecoming Court.

Emily Wendt, Homecoming royalty coordinator, said all applications had to come from full-time students graduating in December or May. They had to submit an essay and go through an interview process. Judges selected finalists from four areas: academics, leadership experience, community service and overall representation of Iowa State.

Candidates will be interviewed by a new set of judges and the king and queen will be crowned on Friday night at the pep-rally.

“Having the royalty court is a chance to honor a group of students for their accomplishments and all they have done for Iowa State,” Wendt said.
