Women’s tennis wins at home
The Iowa State women’s tennis team defeated visiting Illinois-Chicago, 8-1, Friday afternoon. Leading the way for ISU were Erika Asmuss, Mary Rumbaoa, Angie Miller, Maggi Agustsson and Ann Backhaus.
Backhaus was also victorious at the No. 1 doubles position, teaming with Krissy Rydell, to claim an 8-5 win. Agustsson and Rumbaoa, Asmuss and Miller were also winners in doubles action in the No. 2 and 3 positions, respectively.
Soccer team drops its first home game
The ISU women’s soccer team lost to Loyola University Chicago, 0-3, breaking its home win streak at two. Loyola’s Erica Chung scored two of the Ramblers’ goals and Mandy Brettingen scored the other.
Jocelyn Nordstrom led the Cyclones with two shots on goal. Kelly Mearns and Dawn Petersen had one apiece. Starting goalkeeper Lauren Muser had five saves, while Theresa Daniels saw action in goal and had one save.
Lottery extended
The men’s basketball student season ticket lottery sale has been extended. Students will be able to purchase lottery tickets through Wednesday, Oct. 18. Lottery tickets can be purchased at the Olsen Building Ticket Office. Tickets are no longer available in the lobby outside the University Bookstore.
