In spite of it all
October 18, 1995
To the Editor:
Fall. In spite of all the discrimination in our world, in spite of all the racism in our world, in spite of all the ageism, sexism (or) any “ism” for that matter, the world is still a beautiful place.
Take time to look up from the toes of your shoes. Take time to look at the trees. Take time to look up from the bad things. Take time to see the world in all her brilliance. Slow down. Put that paper aside. Turn off your computer and look out the window. Class will wait. Appointments will wait. The books will still be there when you get back.
Take a walk… make that a stroll. Lie down with your head in the leaves and cherish the blue sky.
Take me away from this computer. Where is the nature site on the internet, anyway?
