ISU no competition

Dan Weiche

To the Editor:

I am writing in response to Chris Miller’s September 13th article titled “Venturing into the land of the Cornhuskers.”

I found a couple of his observations interesting. Miller says that he is sick of the way Nebraska fans have gone crazy over last year’s National Championship.

What would you do if Iowa State ever won a National Championship? What if they won just the Big 12 Championship? If you were any type of fan, you would go nuts! I would expect you to. You don’t expect me to believe you would say, “Oh, that’s nice. We won.” Of course not.

Concerning NU’s problems off the field, I would ask you to look no

further than our own Cyclones. How many players have been in trouble with the law or have been kicked of the team in the past year?

Tom Osborne has run a top notch, clean program for over 22 years. I guess he’s no Jim Criner, though.

When ISU starts competing in something bigger than the “Donut Bowl” with Ohio University, I’ll consider listening to your observations.
