Cy’s Eyes clan gives first picks-o-year

Well sports fans, in case you missed it earlier in the week, the Cy’s Eyes games for this week include: Colorado St. at Colorado, Nebraska at Michigan St., UNI at Iowa, Notre Dame at Purdue, Illinois at Oregon, Tennessee at Georgia, Virginia at North Carolina St. and the Iowa State — Texas Christian game.

Turn in your picks by 3 p.m. today and include the total points of the ISU-TCU game for the tiebreaker. If you have the most picks right, you’ll win a T-shirt from T-Galaxy and a 12-inch specialty combo pizza from Pizza Pit. Good Luck!

As long as I beat the Tattooed Guru this year in my Cy’s Eyes picks I’ll be happy. I plan on picking every game correctly this season and if I don’t then … Chad Calek sucks.

Alright, here we go … the Big Eight will dominate, hey I rhymed! Colorado and Nebraska in big wins.

The Hawkeyes will (unlike some teams in the past, I think you can figure it out) dominate the Panthers of UNI in Iowa City.

Notre Dame will bounce back this week over Purdue and Illinois’ defense will stifle the Ducks of Oregon.

Georgia looks strong this year and will take Tennessee in a close one. In the WHO CARES? game of the week, Virginia over N.C. State.

And last, but certainly not least, Iowa State will lose a close game to SWC champ Texas Christian in a high scoring battle.

Look for both Davis’ to dominate the field, but the Horny, excuse me, Horned Frogs’ passing attack will be too much for the ‘Clones. ISU 28 — TCU 30.

I don’t care who wins Cy’s Eyes this year, as long as I whip Mr. Howland’s cocky ass. So here it is. Colorado over Colorado State — No explanation needed. Nebraska over Michigan State. Ditto. Iowa over UNI by a mother load. Way too much offense for the Panthers.

Next is Notre Dame over Purdue. It won’t take the luck of the Irish for this one. Oregon over Illinois. Never underestimate the power of a duck. Tennessee over Georgia. Great Volunteer quarterback will lead the way. Virginia over North Carolina State. Why not?

This takes us to the final pick of this week’s football frenzy. Iowa State 35, Texas Christian 28. That’s right, I picked ’em. Davis is going to run wild on the mighty Horned Frog defense. Enough said.

Roger Ossian – T-Galaxy

Iowa State’s pre-game meal will consist of authentic Texas chili and the Cyclones will engage their high octane offense. Troy Davis will have three bowls and then rush for 250 yards, catch for 120 and throw for a score. Everything is bigger in Texas! ‘Clones 28, TCU 16 — Go Cyclones!

Other picks: Colorado over Colorado St., the Cornhuskers over Michigan St., Iowa beats UNI, the Irish over Purdue, Illinois over Oregon, Tennessee over Georgia and Virginia over North Carolina St.

Cy – ISU bird/tornado

Another season for Cy’s Eyes and another season for ‘ole Cy to wipe up the competition with my winning picks.

There will be no goal post celebrating in Fort Worth for Horny Frogs fans as Troy Davis rushes for 300 yards leading the Cyclones to a 35-31 victory.

Look for an upset in Boulder as coach Sonny Lubick leads his upstart Colorado State Rams to a 37-34 shocker over Colorado.

Notre Dame will not lose two in a row. They will roll over the Boilermakers 27-16.

The Big Red scoring machine will not slow down in East Lansing. Look for the Cornhuskers to shuck the Spartans by a final score of 49-14.

In other games, look for Iowa to dominate UNI, Oregon will easily handle the Illini, Georgia will squeak by Tennessee and Virginia will defeat North Carolina State.

Tattooed Guru – ‘Nuff said

Good morning sports fans. Your dreams have come true, I’m on the Sports page a-gain.

Anyhoo, here’s my picks, so take heed, the guru has spoken.

Colorado St. at Colorado, easy, Colorado by 21. Nebraska at Michigan St., unless Osborne has an eighth-grade squad suit up, the Huskers by 28.

UNI at Iowa. The Panthers will prove that the Hawks suck and always will. UNI in what people will say is an upset. Ohh, by 10.

Notre Dame and Purdue, the gods of football have shunned the Irish yet again with a Boilermaker win by 15. HA!

Illinois at Oregon. Who cares. The Ducks by 3. Tennessee at Georgia. Herschel Walker’s alma mater will beat the Vols by 14. Virginia at North Carolina St., UVa will win in a squeaker. I’ve always wanted to say that.

And last but not first, ISU at TCU. Davis will prove he’s the shit and McCarney will start the season 2-0. Cyclones 28, TCU 24. See ya’.
