Do you ever feel like the only place you fit in is at the circus? Well, you can feel right at home when the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus comes to Vets Auditorium in Des Moines Sept. 7-10 for seven star-studded performances.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of The Greatest Show On Earth!

More than 120 renowned circus artists from the four corners of the globe have gathered in three rings to salute the babies that all America wants to see.

Producer Kenneth Feld unwraps a treasure trove of colorful surprises for the newest members of the Ringling family-Romeo and Juliette, which are the first baby elephants born and bred to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Daredevils Jon Weiss and Giovanni Anastasini air-deliver greetings as they are blasted across the arena from a gigantic double-barreled cannon and hordes of colorfully-dressed harlequins create mischief with their own brand of hijinks.

High-stepping dancers ascend the Spanish web to present a classic Circus “ballet in the air,” and an international array of Circus artists, clowns and dancers parade around the Hippodrome track with pomp and circumstance in the Grand spectacular!

From Russia comes high-wire artists, daring acrobats and thundering Cossack riders. From the Far East treks China’s expert acrobats demonstrating their equilibric talents with colorful bamboo poles.

United Kingdom’s Graham Thomas Chipperfield, a descendent of England’s oldest circus family, presents his Royal Lions, while

the Bogers, hailing from the Ozarks, honor Romeo & Juliette with their version of the all-American team which includes a buffalo, a longhorn steer and a miniature horse!

The two hour-plus production features non-stop ringling action accompanied by live music, ranging from Bach to rock to country and more than 500 dazzlingly sequined costumes and brightly painted floats will provide the perfect setting for America’s biggest, happiest celebration!
