Political Incorrectness is back to wreak havoc

Scott Andresen

It’s time, once again, for politically correctness to take a backseat. Let all the wacked-out superstars come into your home and spew forth their political opinions and ideology. You guessed it, Bill Maher’s back with another exciting, fun-filled season of “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher.”

Although the show didn’t win any Emmys Monday night, it was nominated twice, for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series and also for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing a Variety or Music Program.

Last year the show won two CableACE Awards for Best Talk Show and Best Entertainment Host.

“Politically Incorrect,” as Maher describes it, is a “McLaughlin Group on acid,” and places Maher in the middle, literally, of a diverse group of “expert” guests. Panelists from the political arena, entertainment industry and journalists will join Maher to try and make sense of this crazy world.

Besides hosting this award-winning show, Maher is the author of True Story, a comedy novel recently published by Random House. Before spouting off about O.J. and body piercings, Maher starred in two memorable films: Out of Time, an NBC Movie of the Week, and Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death.

Past guests have included Ted Nugent, Quentin Tarantino, Steve Allen, Jerry Seinfield and Sarah Jessica Parker, just to name a few.

Not only will viewers see guests like these, they will also see a show staple, “politically incorrect” roadtrips, with visits to Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Aspen. Segments also include one-on-one discussions and various sketches.

New half-hour episodes of “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher” can be seen on Comedy Central Monday through Friday at 11 p.m.

On Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., the network will show the week’s episodes back-to-back during “Politically Incorrect: Week in Review.”
