GSB Senator Shaver resigns
August 31, 1995
Wednesday night may have been the last Government of the Student Body meeting for Sen. Dustin Shaver.
Shaver, who represents the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, announced his withdrawal from the GSB Senate prior to the meeting’s adjournment. He said he will resign as soon as he finds a replacement.
If no replacement is found, Shaver will stay with GSB for the 1995-96 term, he said.
Shaver is the mayor of the University Students Apartments Community, an organization for married students. Shaver said he will continue with the USAC regardless of whether he stays on the Senate.
Last year, Shaver served as the GSB representative to the Athletic Council, was a member of the GSB Finance Committee and the Ames Transit Committee.
In other business, Sen. Ginger Cowger was elected as vice chairwoman of the Senate and Sen. Josh Hansen was elected as chairman of the Special Fees Committee for the 1995-96 term.
Also appointed were Carolyn Jones, Panhel senator; Nader Badr, international senator; Kerri Moegenburg, RCA senator; and Chris Juhl, College of Design senator.
