Juice bar won’t open at Chamberlain site

Campustown will apparently not be home to a juice bar.

Bud Corieri, owner of a building at 2522 Chamberlain St., said he has rented the lower level of the structure to the owners of Dean’s List nightclub. The club is housed above the space Corieri considered leasing to proprietors wishing to establish a juice bar.

“I would have been offered much more money if I had went with the juice bar, but I was not for a juice bar,” Corieri said. Corieri said he received about three offers from people who wanted to rent the space.

Justin Acri, co-owner of Dean’s List, said he signed a lease for the lower level of the building last week. He said the lower level of the club will have a “different format than the upper level, but it will not be a juice bar.” Acri said the new club will be “more relaxing” and “a bit upscale.”

Acri said leasing the entire building was in reaction to the proposed juice bar.

“As soon as the Dean’s List was an entity, we wanted the whole building,” Acri said. “We are obviously happy the juice bar is not going in, but it was not a consideration in our pursuit of the entire building.”
