“Football Friday”

To the Editor:
The most exciting weekend of the fall semester is almost upon us.
On our campus this weekend, we get to see the rich pageantry and excitement of college football in its truest form: the intrastate rivalry. To make it everything that it deserves to be, the students and faculty should embrace the friendly rivalry and show their school spirit.
I encourage everyone to come to campus this Friday wearing our school colors, or something that bears the new logo.
Let’s make it “Football Friday.”
And let’s not forget that the faculty, staff and administrators are fans, too. I’d like to see all of them dressed in Iowa State colors, so that they can enjoy the casual comfort that students get everyday, and show students that they too are true to Iowa State.
At Iowa State, we have people from a multitude of different places, races, religions, cultures and countries.
But in the end, there is one thing that transcends all of our differences and unites us all: school spirit, support for our team… loyalty to Iowa State. This weekend, if only for a short while, we can all agree on one thing.
Go Cyclones, beat the Hawks!
