ISU deserves STV 9
September 25, 1995
STV 9, Iowa State University’s television station, is trying to prove its worth. The STV 9 studios are housed in Exhibit Hall, which will eventually be demolished. The location of the station’s future facilities has not been determined.
A new morning show, “Wake Up ISU,” was created to help prove the station’s value. The show, which includes news, weather, sports and guest interviews, is run entirely by student volunteers. The cable-access channel reaches Ames and Nevada.
More important than serving the Iowa State community with a morning show, STV 9 serves ISU journalism students with first-hand experience.
The university-owned station is an integral part of the journalism and mass communications program. And especially after the sale of WOI-TV, the station is an invaluable resource for students.
Students deserve the opportunities of experience that STV 9 offers. And they deserve the best facility location possible.
