Terrorist ploy a failure
August 24, 1995
Israeli negotiators should be applauded for returning to continue peace talks with the PLO after a suicide bomber caused the deaths of five people in Jerusalem on Monday.
It was feared the talks, which were addressing the issue of expanded Palestinian autonomy, would be interrupted following the terrorist attack in Israel. The Islamic militant group Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
Both Israel and the PLO are to be commended for returning to the table and not allowing terrorist methods to interrupt the quest for peace in a troubled region.
