Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

As an Iowa State University Alumni, I must voice my support for Coach McCarney. I am happy to see that he is trying to clean up the Cyclone football team. I would much rather see a team with a record of 0-11 and a 75% or higher graduation rate than one with a perfect win-loss record and a 25% graduation rate.

Getting rid of the criminals shows the team that they have to be responsible for their own actions. I think it would give the honest players, who are out there because they love to play football, a sense of pride.

It’s good to see a coach with a spine, something Criner and Walden seem to have been missing.
