Men’s golf coach returns

After some much needed rest, the Cyclone men’s head golf coach Dale Anderson returned to his post last Monday after a brief leave of absence.

According to women’s head coach Julie Manning, “The coach needed some time off. He may have over did it a little this summer.”

While Anderson was out, Manning, along with men’s assistant coach Mark Hankins filled in for Anderson.

Hankins, a graduate student, assisted Anderson last year.

“Dale came back refreshed and ready to work,” Manning said. “He is doing just fine.”

“He attended several camps, and needed a short break,” Manning said.

She said, “Because his position is only nine months out of the year, and with all of the camps this summer, he may have needed a little time to recuperate.”

Anderson, in his 18th year of coaching the Cyclones, will debut the 1995-96 version of the Cyclone men’s golfers at the Big Four Championship in Waterloo on Sept. 9.
