The Iowa State Daily has hired Annette Forbes as its new advertising manager, General Manager Janette Antisdel said Monday.

Forbes will replace Kathy Davis, who announced her resignation last month.

Forbes is currently the general manager of the Nevada Journal.

Antisdel said she selected Forbes from a pool of about 30 applicants. She consulted with Daily Publications Board Chair Jim McNutt and Adviser Tom Beell before making her final selection.

“[Forbes] has sold ads for a number of print and broadcast media,” Antisdel said, adding that Forbes’ diverse business background will aid her in her work at the Daily.

Forbes will oversee both the classified and display departments of the newspaper, and will be in charge of hiring, training and supervising the Daily’s student advertising sales staff.
