Council will discuss the fate of old building and new building

Iowa State Daily

The following items will be acted upon at the Ames City Councilmeeting tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall.

*The fate of the 80-year-old building that once housed the old council chambers. The council heard from three groups vying for the building at their July 11 meeting, and will decide whether to accept one of the bids or table any action until next spring.

*Zoning for a four-story apartment building at 608 and 612 Douglas Ave. The council heard a request to approve this 18-unit building at a meeting earlier this summer and denied construction because of design problems. Now that specifications have been made to the exterior and other areas of the building, the council will decide whether to approve construction.
