Get back to nature
What better way to enjoy the great outdoors (and some fabulous weather) than listenin’ to some music with a message? Ames residents will have a chance to do just that this Wednesday when Ron Cisar, vocalist and guitarist, performs his “earth music” at the Iowa 4-H Center.
Cisar, a high school biology teacher in Omaha, Neb., has been playing guitar for more than 12 years. He often lectures on environmental issues to schools, nature centers and organizations and is perhaps best known for his 1992 release Earth Music.
The concert is open to the public, free to all and supported in part by a grant from the Iowa Arts Council. The Iowa 4-H Center is located at 1991 Peach Avenue in Madrid; for more information, please call 795-3338.
Get swept away
Have you ever dreamt of being on the big screen? Or wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a major motion picture?
A chance to find out is coming tomorrow when there will be an extras call for the upcoming Steven Spielberg movie, Twister, at the Ramada Inn, located at 1206 S. Duff Ave. in Ames. Hopefuls need to go to the Production Trailer in the southeast corner of the hotel parking lot.
They are looking for both males and females, ages 14 and up (no children, please). If you have any questions, please contact the Fullerton Casting Office at (405) 848-4839.
