A 16-year-old male was treated at Mary Greeley Medical Center after arriving with a gunshot wound in the chest.

The hospital was able to treat the wound, and the male was later released from the hospital. Police were informed of a shooting at 9:46 p.m Tuesday. Mary Greeley reported the incident “shortly after this initial call,” according to a press release from the department.

Ames Police investigated the situation that allegedly took place in the parking lot at 1300 Coconino Road but found evidence of a bullet entering an apartment building.

Police are still investigating the case but have so far found no threat to the community.
