Cyclones ranked No. 22 in College Football Playoff top 25

The results everyone across the nation wanted to see on Tuesday were released at 8 p.m.
The College Football Playoff top 25 rankings revealed Iowa State in the No. 22 spot.
The Cyclones found themselves at No. 24 last week, and Iowa State showed up at No. 23 in the Associated Press top 25 on Sunday.
Rankings committees have taken notice of the Cyclones since freshman quarterback Brock Purdy’s infusion into the starting lineup.
Purdy and the Cyclones knocked off Oklahoma State, 48-42. After Purdy’s first win, Iowa State followed by upsetting West Virginia, 30-14 to climb to 3-3. The Cyclones tacked on another win over Texas Tech, snagging No. 24 in the first College Football Playoff poll. Iowa State also received votes in the AP poll following the homecoming win.
