The Iowa State Softball team will look to continue their momentum going into the second game of the fall season. They will travel to Chicago to face DePaul in a doubleheader on Sunday.

Iowa State is coming off an impressive 24-2 win over Iowa Central and will look to improve every game of the season.

Head Coach Jamie Pinkerton says that “In the fall… what we are trying to do is get to know ourselves and set up to have the ability to get better each game.”

Although the victory against Iowa Central was convincing, there were a few mistakes here and there.

Iowa State will look to iron out the errors they made and figure out what combinations of players work well together.

Overall, Iowa State looked impressive as a complete unit, but DePaul should be a good test for them.

Both Iowa State and DePaul are coming off of winning seasons last year, so both teams will look to come out Sunday and play good competitive games.

Playing a doubleheader will also allow Iowa State to have more innings to try things out. The biggest thing they are looking to focus on during the fall season is figuring out the team’s identity before the regular season starts.

Iowa State will try out different players as starters and backups and figure what will work best for the team after the fall season.

Iowa State is set to face DePaul in Chicago on September 19th. The first game of the doubleheader will start at noon central time.
