Republican Mike Naig wins race for Secretary of Agriculture

Mike Naig will continue his time as the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture following midterm election results.
The election went to Naig after he received (VOTE COUNT).
Naig, a Republican, ran on improving the Iowa farm economy, restoring water quality, improving trade and expanding markets.
Naig became Deputy Secretary in the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship in 2013.
The Deputy secretary is responsible for overseeing the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship through development of budget policy.
Naig was originally appointed as Secretary of Agriculture by Gov. Kim Reynolds after former Secretary Bill Northey was appointed as the undersecretary to the USDA.
