Tom Miller wins attorney general race

Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller was reelected during the midterm elections Tuesday.

Tom Miller, Democratic candidate for Iowa Attorney General, has won his reelection bid against opponent Marco Battaglia.

The election was called at 10:50 p.m. with Miller receiving 540,001 — 77.16 percent — votes at the time. This is compared to Battaglia who received 154,920 votes, according to the Secretary of State’s website. 

“Attorney General Miller has served in office since he was first elected in 1978, except for four years (1991-94) when he was in private practice,” according to the Attorney General’s website.

Miller has focused his time in office on issues relating to consumer protections and helping farmers and victims of crime.

Over his tenure, Miller has been known for working with different parties and administrations to help Iowans.
