Fresh off of a 2-1 trip to Maui, the Cyclones returned to action and, despite the weather being much worse, continued to build momentum by strolling past Nebraska-Omaha 82-55.

The Cyclones jumped out to an 11-0 lead before the first media timeout on the back of a strong start from freshman guard Tyrese Haliburton. Haliburton had 16 points in the first half along with three rebounds and two steals. The Cyclones turned the ball over eight times themselves but forced Omaha to commit 11 turnovers.

The Cyclones shot 50 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

A quick start to the second half gave the Cyclones their biggest lead of the night at 60-36. It was a 62-43 lead at the under-12 timeout and 71-47 at the under-8 timeout as the Cyclones continued to pull away from the 3-4 Mavericks.

Four Cyclones ended up in double figures, and Iowa State was able to empty the bench with walk-ons Eric Steyer and Carter Boothe seeing action in the final minutes. Iowa State moves to 6-1 on the season.

Up next for the Cyclones is a home game against North Dakota State on Dec. 3.
