Iowa State suffered a blow Friday when it was announced sophomore guard Lindell Wigginton has a left foot strain and will be out indefinitely. The team’s athletic trainer, Vic Miller, said Wigginton will be evaluated week-to-week.

The Cyclones were already shorthanded with absences to Cameron Lard and Zoran Talley Jr. (suspensions) and an injury to forward Solomon Young. Iowa State is now down to eight scholarship players.

Wigginton started 31 games for the Cyclones last year and averaged 16.7 points per game. In Iowa State’s first game this season, Wigginton had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists in a win.

Iowa State plays Missouri Friday at 6 p.m.
