Iowa State struggles in day two of Big 12 match play

Then-sophomore Lachlan Barker came from Australia to compete with Cyclones’ men’s golf. Barker set a new personal best during his 2018-19 season with more than 120 birdies.

The second day of match play came to a conclusion Saturday evening for the Iowa State men’s golf team. Iowa State once again couldn’t get consistent play against their two opponents on the second day. The morning matchup for the Cyclones was against 10th-seeded Kansas State.

The seeding didn’t matter as Kansas State took the victory 3-2-1. Sophomores Frank Lindwall and Lachlan Barker got the two victories for the Cyclones with Lindwall taking his matchup 2&1 and Barker winning 5&4.

Iowa faced off against Baylor in the second matchup of the day. Baylor won the match 4-2-0. Lindwall and Barker brought home the only two victories with scores of 5&4, with Barker getting 3&2.
