The first day of Big 12 match play ended Friday for the Cyclones. Iowa State lost to Oklahoma in their first pairing of day one and lost to Texas in round two.

Oklahoma beat Iowa State 4-1-1 in the morning matchup. Tripp Kinney was the only victory the Cyclones could muster against the No. 2-seeded Sooners. Kinney won his match 3-and-2. Oklahoma won almost all other matchups decisively.  

Iowa State played the third-seeded Texas Longhorns in the second matchup of the day. Iowa State lost again 3-2-1 to Texas. Lachlan Barker and Sam Vincent got the two wins for the Cyclones.

Iowa State has two more matchups on Saturday.
