Iowa State announced Monday that redshirt sophomore quarterback Zeb Noland will transfer from the program after the end of this semester.

“I want to thank Zeb for his time at Iowa State,” Campbell said in a press release. “He notified me of his decision to transfer in order to find more playing time. I respect Zeb’s decision and we will assist him in his process of finding another school.”

Noland started four games for the Cyclones in 2018, throwing for 722 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He took a leave of absence prior to Iowa State’s 40-31 win over Texas Tech.

The departure leaves Iowa State’s quarterback room with little experience. Freshman Brock Purdy and redshirt senior Kyle Kempt are the only two quarterbacks left with any college experience, and Kempt will leave after this season once his eligibility is exhausted.

Redshirt freshman Devon Moore and freshman Re-al Mitchell are the other two quarterbacks on scholarship.
