Year: Sophomore

Major: Biology and Biological Premed Illustration

What are you hoping to get out of attending?

“I went to the CALS Career Fair, but I didn’t have enough time to be there as long as I wanted. I figured here there are more artistic, if that’s the right word to use, jobs available. I need an internship for sure this summer.”

Do you think attending will benefit you?

It’s a good experience to talk to employers.

Were you nervous walking in?

A little nervous, but it got easier after I talked to the first person. It got easier the more people I talked to.

Annie Edelman

Year: Senior

Major: Journalism

Minor: English

What are you hoping to get out of attending?

“A job. I graduate in December, so I really need to find a job.”

What companies did you talk to?

“I talked to a lot, including Big Green Umbrella and the News.”

Were you nervous going in?

“Yes! Just because I don’t know what to say. I desperately need a job, but I don’t want to come off as desperate.”

Grace Ekema

Year: Junior

Major: in Public Relations

Minor: in Event Management

What are you hoping to get out of attending?

I am hoping to get my name out more. I also want to go back to the same people I met last year and reintroduce myself. I am looking for a spring/summer internship, or anything I can get my hands on.

Are you nervous?

“A little, I threw everything together last minute because I didn’t have time to get prepared.”

Have you went in to the fair yet?

“No, I am just sitting here getting used to the environment, which has helped my nerves.”

Matt Solomons

Year: Junior

Major: History

Minor: Journalism

What are you hoping to get out of attending?

“I just kind of came to see what they have to offer. I am originally from London, and I am an exchange student here this year. I just wanted to see what was on offer. I don’t even know if I’m actually able to do an internship. I have a friend that did an internship in the U.S. the summer after they studied here, and that’s what I would like to do. It would look great on a resume.”

Were you nervous?

“Not really nervous, I just am not dressed like everyone else. If I had my resume with me that would make me feel better.”
