One of the most important things in a town are the restaurants and cafes offered. In Central Ames, you couldn’t skip a rock without hitting a good place to eat! Pizza, Mexican, Indian, Thai food, you name it, there’s a restaurant for it. Head over to North Ames, and you will be flooded with cute places to visit on Main Street, such as Main Street Deli, Great Plains Pizza, and Cafe Diem. Cafes are the perfect place to study in a hectic college town. There’s food, free wifi, and of course, caffeine! With all the places to eat it’s hard to pick the location that you like best. Thomas Krueger, a senior in political science said, “Freddy’s or Smokin’ Oak is my favorite.”

Ames offers a variety of restaurants including India Palace on Hayward Ave. After one bite, your Indian food craving is gone. Mr. Burrito on Lincoln Way is small but mighty, and although the seating is limited, Mr. Burrito is a crowd favorite especially on Saturday nights. However, Benjamin Harvel, a senior in aerospace engineer, would rather be at Es Tas Bar and Grill.

“Es Tas has dollar tequila shots!” Harvel said. Along with drinks, Es Tas also serves a range of Mexican food.
