Minimal effort high caffeine coffee recipes
Getting back into the routine of classes isn’t always easy after spring break. Buying coffee every morning as a caffeine boost for the return of early morning classes may not be an option for those who are trying to save money after costly trips.
These recipes take less than 10 minutes and require minimal ingredients.
Iced Caramel Macchiato
Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
Caramel syrup
Espresso
Caramel sauce
Choice of milk
Directions:
In an eight-ounce glass filled with ice, add two tablespoons of caramel syrup. Next, pour in four tablespoons of espresso — either newly brewed or pre-made — and ¾ cup of your choice of milk. Stir heavily, and add caramel sauce on top for extra flavor and garnishing.
Iced Vanilla Latte
Time: 7 minutes
Ingredients:
Vanilla syrup
Espresso
Frothed milk of choice
Directions:
Lattes are unique to macchiatos because the milk has to be frothed. Frothing milk is easiest with a frother, which can be purchased from Walmart or Amazon for under $5. Without a frother, ¾ cup of milk can be microwaved for 30 seconds and then shaken in a jar or container for another 30 seconds.
After filling an eight-ounce glass with ice nearly to the top, add two shots of espresso. This can be newly brewed or pre-made. Next, mix the frothed milk into the espresso and stir. There is no limit to the amount of vanilla syrup to use, but it is best to add one tablespoon at a time until the desired taste is reached.
