A call was made to the Story County Sheriff’s Office for a verbal domestic dispute on Sunday at 11:35 a.m., according to a press release.
The call came from a rural residence and was responded to by the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response, UAS and Negotiations Team. Iowa State Patrol, Story County Emergency Management, Story County Hospital and Colo Fire also assisted.
The subject, a male, peacefully surrendered after five hours of negotiation. There were no injuries and no further incidents after the surrender.
There is no threat the to public based on this incident, according to the press release, as it took place inside the residence. An investigation is being carried out by the Sheriff’s Office and charges may be filed.
