The Ames Police Department is continuing to investigate a death outside City Hall that occurred Tuesday.
The Ames Police responded to a report of a gunshot on the north side of City Hall located at 515 Clark Avenue at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from the City of Ames. The officers at the scene found a dead female whom they presumed died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The name of the female is currently being withheld as the family gets notified. The Ames Police Department will continue investigating the incident and more information will come.
