The Senate passed legislation providing the Rugby Club (Men) with $2,147.01 to acquire a contractor-controlled insurance program, which is required for the club to practice and play.
The Senate will fund up to 50% of registration fees for eligible clubs, which Finance Director Martin Hursh, a sophomore in economics, said the club qualifies for.
“They obviously need it to play, and Rugby Club’s pretty awesome,” Hursh said.
The Senate passed a resolution wishing College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Senator Dawson Chenoweth, a junior in agricultural systems technology, a happy birthday.
“I know that he expressed to somebody that he didn’t want this, but I had to because this is what I want to see Student Government become: us celebrating one another, us celebrating our successes and just being a community with one another,” said Human Sciences Senator Brandon Kamstra, a senior in kinesiology and health.
The Senate used closing comments to sing Chenoweth happy birthday.
