The Cyclones came out hot in their first two matches of Big 12 play with two road sweeps over West Virginia.
Now they return home for two matches against Baylor in Hilton Coliseum.
In 2022, the Cyclones split the series with Baylor, taking the first match 3-1 at home and losing the second match 3-1 on the road in Waco, Texas.
Despite the success against West Virginia, the Cyclones fell just outside of the top-25. Baylor comes into the weekend’s matches at No. 18.
Baylor also enters the weekend with a 6-5 record, as the Bears have played a difficult schedule thus far.
Six out of Baylor’s eleven matches have been against top-25 teams. Baylor went 2-4 in those matches, defeating, at the time, No. 18 Rice and No. 19 Ohio State and losing to No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 7 Minnesota, No. 11 Washington State and No. 10 BYU in its Big 12 opener last week.
Iowa State enters the weekend at 11-2, riding a four-match winning streak.
The Cyclones will look to continue their hot streak after what was arguably their best weekend of the season against West Virginia. The Cyclones hit .419 in the match, which was the first time since 2019 that they had hit over .400.
The stellar performance was headlined by Maya Duckworth who racked up 17 kills and .441 hitting.
Three other Cyclones with over 10 attempts also hit at over .400. Nayeli Gonzalez had 10 kills at .450, Pam McCune had nine kills at .462 and Jordan Hopp had seven at .467.
The weekend series starts on Saturday with the second match on Sunday.
Both matches will tip off at 2 p.m. and can be streamed live on ESPN+. In addition to the ESPN+ stream, Sunday’s match will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
