Aidan Ralph, a former linebacker for the Iowa State football team, was found guilty of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony, and a first offense of domestic abuse assault with injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor, Thursday afternoon.
Ralph was initially arrested in early May for sexual abuse and domestic assault charges after an alleged incident between him and his girlfriend in late 2022. He was removed from the Cyclone football team the day after his arrest.
He pleaded not guilty before he was initially scheduled to go to trial July 11, but his trial was then pushed to July 25.
Sentencing is currently scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 11, and Ralph will be held without bond until the sentencing.
