Dear Daily Readers,
Today, I want to reminisce about my first semester as the opinion section editor here at the Daily. As this is our last week of content for the semester, I just want to say thank you to all who have decided to participate in the continuation of this section and the paper more generally. The Daily is a small, independent paper for the students of Iowa State University, and I am proud to represent such a publication. Our community is tight-knit, and no matter the scale, conversations and debates surrounding the world’s most pressing issues are extremely important. Whether it is an article about the war in Israel or an article discussing student housing, you, the reader, have never failed to show up. Whether you love or hate my opinions, I sincerely value your involvement and cannot wait to see what the future holds. In the meantime, good luck with finals, and have a wonderful winter break!
Best wishes,
Caleb Weingarten

I, a 1972 graduate enjoy reading the comment section of The Daily. I become more informed of happenings on campus as well as the current events of the University. I appreciate all opinions on controversial topics. Keep up the good work
