The event is open to all students and is a way for students to connect with culture and identity-based student organizations and university resources. The fair will feature 20 clubs and resources, including Al Éxito Collegiate, The Pride Alliance and Sloss House.
Mia Kawamitsu, a senior in journalism and mass communication and the director of international student experience for the Iowa State Student Government organized the event.
“This is the first time we’re having a multicultural club fair,” Kawamitsu said. “Iowa State likes to boast that we have 800+ clubs, which is a great thing, but within that there comes the issue with finding the right community.”
Kawamitsu stressed the number of opportunities available for students at the event.
“If you are looking to join a club or are just interested in learning about the resources we have, I really encourage you to attend this event,” Kawamitsu said. “I hope we will have a great turnout and this event can continue moving forward.”
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 30 in the Memorial Union Great Hall.
