Iowa State is on the road this week after getting a win in Ames last Friday against Illinois State. The No. 19 Cyclones took the floor in Boise, Idaho and took on No. 35 Boise State.
The Cyclones’ winning streak came to an end as they dropped a 196.525-195.550 loss to the Broncos.
Noelle Adams has another dominant night
Freshman Noelle Adams has been a key piece for the Iowa State gymnastics team so far this season.
Adams finished her night off with a dominant win on the balance beam with a 9.900. She then had another dominant night on the vault finishing second with a 9.875. She finished her night strong with a 9.900 on the floor.
Overall Adams finished with another strong night in Boise and accounted for 29.675 of Iowa State’s 195.550 points.
Vault stays on top for the Cyclones
Already in the 2023-2024 season Iowa State has shown that the vault event is going to be its strongest this season.
Junior Josie Bergstrom was the leader tonight in the vault event scoring the highest with a 9.925.
Following Bergstrom was Adams who took second with a 9.875. Adams and Bergstrom have shown their skills on the vault already scoring high every meet.
Overall the Cyclones finished with a final score of 49.175 in the vault and took the event over the Broncos.
Loyim takes all around in Idaho
Junior gymnast Hannah Loyim has become a key component of the Iowa State gymnastics team during her time at Iowa State.
However, the Boise State meet isn’t just a normal meet for Loyim as she is competing against her twin sister Emma Loyim who competes at Boise State.
Tonight at Boise State, Loyim started the night taking the bars event alongside gymnast Emily Lopez from Boise State. Before Loyim scored a 9.775 with fellow Cyclone Paige Wills on the vault.
Loyim competed in her last two events of the night in floor and beam. For floor, Loyim finished with a 9.750 then finished floor with a 9.850.
Loyim finished her night with the win in the all-around with a final score of 39.250.
