The Cyclones gymnastics squad will participate in their second straight meet in Utah, where they will face Southern Utah. This meet comes following their third place performance at the Utah State Quad-Meet.
This meet will take place in Cedar City, Utah, a nearly five-hour commute from Logan, Utah, only three days removed from the quad-meet.
In three meetings between the Cyclones and the Thunderbirds, Iowa State stands undefeated, never having dropped a meet to the host team.
The Cyclones sit with a record of 5-7, emphasizing their struggles in away meets. They average 196.079 points per meet, which has been steady throughout the season, even in their skid.
The highlights of the team are Noelle Adams and Hannah Loyim.
Adams has averaged 29.561 points per meet as a three-event performer in her successful start to her freshman season. Her best event is the floor exercise where she averages 9.879 points per event.
Loyim is Iowa State’s designated all-arounder, as she performs in all four events present at meets. She averages 39.179 points per meet.
Southern Utah holds a record of 5-8 and enters its home meet off a ten-day break, with its last meet coming at the Boise State Tri-Meet. While the Cyclones have failed to beat the Boise State Broncos, the Thunderbirds boast a 1-1 record against them.
They also own a victory over Utah State, who the Cyclones fell to at the Utah State Quad-Meet.
The meets’ first rotation will begin at 8 p.m. Monday and can be streamed through Overnght.
