The Iowa State softball team will travel for the fourth consecutive weekend, this time to compete in the Colorado Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Last time out, the Cyclones went 1-4 after competing in the Rawlings Classic in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The biggest strength for the Cyclones heading into in the Rawlings Classic was their offense, and they kept that going; however, that did not put them out on top.
Iowa State hopes to take new energy into the following weekend as it travels west to play from Friday to Sunday.
The Cyclones will be playing against two teams in Fort Collins: the Rams from Colorado State and the Bears from Northern Colorado.
Colorado State is going into the weekend with a record of 7-8 after competing against No. 12 Stanford and No. 2 Texas. Iowa State will play Colorado State twice Friday to start the Colorado Classic.
The Cyclones will then move on to play Northern Colorado twice Saturday. The Bears are 4-10 and have played top schools including Michigan and Arizona during February.
Iowa State will finish off its time in Fort Collins with another matchup with Colorado State once again.
The Colorado Classic starts for the Cyclones at 1 p.m. Friday against Colorado State, and it will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
