Unity Church is holding a consignment sale from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 226 Ninth St. The sale will consist of multiple vendors in the community who are getting rid of items like IKEA lamps, rugs, desk chairs, household goods, towels, shoes and even clothing.
Not only will they sell household items, but food will also be for sale. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, they will serve walking tacos, cookies and bottled water. All food and beverages will be sold for a small price and the proceeds will go toward church funds.
Unity Point not only holds the annual consignment sale but also participates in many community service activities and consistently raises money for various organizations in the Ames and Greater Des Moines area.
“We say we’re small but mighty,” said Rev. Deb Hill-Davis, the senior minister at Unity Church. “We do good things… and we like to think it matters.”
