After one season with Iowa State, center Isnelle Natabou has decided to re-enter the portal for the third time. Before her time in Ames, Natabou spent two seasons at Sacramento State, where she transferred after one season at Iowa Western Community College.
Natabou brought height at the center position that Iowa State had not seen in many seasons prior. The 6-foot-5 junior started the first four games for the Cyclones in her lone season on the team.
With her experience at the college level, Natabou got the nod to be one of the starters early in the season. It was not long before Natabou was swapped for freshman Audi Crooks as the starting center.
After Crooks found her footing, Natabou became an important presence off the bench to fill in when Crooks needed a break. Natabou played in all 33 games in the 2023-24 season.
At an average of 12 minutes per game, Natabou shot 53.4% from the field and averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Her biggest performance came at home against Kansas State, where she shot 5-for-6 and scored 10 points in 12 minutes.
The most points and minutes Natabou played came in her Iowa State debut against Butler. Natabou scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 24 minutes.
Natabou now becomes the fifth Cyclone to enter the transfer portal after the 2023-24 campaign. The big question now for the Cyclones is who will be the backup for Crooks at the center position.
