Jason Keith, dean of the Mississippi State College of Engineering, was named the third of four finalists to serve as provost, starting in the summer.
Keith will visit campus Monday and Tuesday, participating in a campus forum at 3 p.m. Monday in the Memorial Union Sun Room.
Keith earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron before receiving a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Notre Dame.
If selected, Keith would replace Provost Jonathan Wickert, whose educational background is also in engineering. Wickert will remain at Iowa State as a professor in engineering after he steps down.
The visit consists of meetings with the search committee, President Wendy Wintersteen, enrollment management, members of the Professional and Scientific Council, Faculty Senate, Student Government and Graduate and Professional Student Senate; the meetings will also include a campus tour.
The fourth and final remaining candidate, who is unannounced, will visit campus April 29 and 30.
Information regarding candidates and their visits to campus, including a link to the candidate feedback form, is posted and updated on the Office of the President website.
