A 13-3 opening-season loss to in-state rival Iowa certainly stings for Iowa State players, coaches and fans. With few positives on the Iowa State offense and special teams, the defense provided a bright spot.
Leading the charge for the Cyclone defense was freshman Mike linebacker Mike Rose.
Rose played a key role in the Iowa State defense, showing up in the box score (a game-high 11 tackles and a pass break-up) and on Twitter feeds.
