24th Street Railroad Crossing
All lanes of 24th Street will close Sept. 23 at the railroad crossing for an anticipated two weeks, according to a city news release Monday.
The crossing will be closed to remove and replace approaches to the railroad tracks. The railroad crossing will also be extended north to connect the sidewalk on the north side of the crossing.
“A detour route will direct through traffic on 24th Street north to Bloomington Road and Grand Avenue,” the release stated. “West of the railroad track, 24th Street will remain open and accessible from Stange Road.”
A shared-use path will also be closed during this time and will reopen once the project is finished.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for expected delays.
Roosevelt Avenue between 13th and 16th
The south half of Roosevelt Avenue between 13th and 16th Street will close Tuesday for pavement removal and replacement, according to a city news release Friday.
“There will be an additional temporary lane closure on 13th Street adjacent to Roosevelt Avenue to allow for truck movement during pavement removal and replacement,” the release stated. “This lane will be reopened at the end of each day.”
The project is expected to take four to five weeks to complete.
“Once completed, pavement work on the south half of Marston Avenue is anticipated to begin, and work on Curtiss Avenue is expected to be completed by the week of Sept. 23,” the release stated.
