Iowa State swim and dive couldn’t get past the Nebraska Cornhuskers, losing 202-94 in Lincoln. The Cyclones now sit at 2-1 on the season.
This loss marks the 10th in a row for Iowa State against Nebraska, with the last Cyclone victory coming in 2003.
Iowa State was unable to wrestle control from Nebraska during the meet, but there were still swimmers who had strong individual performances.
Senior Carley Caughron led the Cyclones with 12 points scored. She finished second in her three individual events and 400 relay.
Sophomore Emma Kuhn scored nine points for second most on the team. She finished first in the 100 back (56.77)
Graduate student Winter Craig scored six points, good for third most for the Cyclones. Craig finished third in the 100 fly (57.92) and 200 fly (2:05.10).
Nebraska started off hot and placed both first and second in the 200 medley relay. The Cornhuskers also won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Iowa State looks to bounce back in its next meet against Iowa in the Hawkeye Invitational Nov. 21-23.
