Brock Purdy
Purdy played a solid game against the Seattle Seahawks, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory against the San Francisco 49ers’ division rival.
The third-year quarterback went 21-for-28 for 159 yards with a touchdown and an interception through the air. On the ground, Purdy added 40 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Unfortunately for Purdy and the 49ers, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith ran in the go-ahead touchdown to make the score 20-17 with just 12 seconds left in the game.
With the loss, the defending NFC champions have dropped to a disappointing 5-5, which puts San Francisco in last place in the NFC West.
Despite the disappointing start to the season for the 49ers, Purdy is putting together a very good individual season. Purdy currently ranks sixth in the NFL in passing yards with 2,613 yards and sixth in quarterback rating at 67.4.
David Montgomery
Montgomery and the Detroit Lions kept on rolling after demolishing the Jacksonville Jaguars 52-6 to move to 9-1 on the season.
Montgomery ran the ball 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 20 yards.
Montgomery’s two rushing touchdowns bring his total to 10 on the season, good for third place in the NFL, trailing only Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry with 13 and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts with 11.
Montgomery also ranks 21st in the NFL in rushing yards with 595, despite sharing the workload with teammate Jahmyr Gibbs, who currently ranks fifth in the NFL with 796 rushing yards.
With help from Montgomery, the Lions lead the league in scoring offense, averaging 33.6 points per game and are third in total offense, averaging 394.7 yards per game.
It has been a dream season for Montgomery’s Lions so far. The Lions are 9-1 and sit alone at the top of the NFC.
Breece Hall
Hall had a very productive game for the New York Jets, but once again it was not enough. The Jets were defeated by the Indianapolis Colts 28-27, dropping to 3-8 on the season.
On the ground, Hall picked up 78 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Through the air, Hall had 43 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven receptions.
Hall’s two touchdowns ended a three-game touchdown drought.
After his strong performance, Hall ranks 18th in the NFL in rushing yards with 632 and second in receiving yards among running backs with 401 yards, trailing only New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.
Will McDonald IV
McDonald’s sackless streak moved to four games in the Jets’ 28-27 loss to the Colts, as he recorded just two tackles in the game.
Despite the sack drought, McDonald is still tied for fifth in the NFL with eight sacks.
Jake Hummel
Hummel recorded one tackle in the Los Angeles Rams’ 28-22 victory over the New England Patriots.
