Students seeking stress relief ahead of finals week can find resources by building free mental health kits at the Maintenance Shop on Wednesday.
The Student Union Board will host its biannual “Build Your Own Mental Health Kit” event Wednesday at the M-Shop for students needing to decompress and relieve stress from studying for finals.
The event is free to all Iowa State students and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the M-Shop, or until supplies run out.
The Student Union Board, also known as SUB, is a student organization that focuses on planning and promoting events for students and others in the Iowa State community.
“Our mission is to provide the Iowa State community with a series of diverse cultural, recreational, social and educational entertainment programs,” according to the SUB website.
The Maintenance Shop, also known as the M-Shop, is located on the ground floor of the Memorial Union.
“All ISU students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of stress relieving items and put together their own mental health kit to help them through the rest of the semester,” according to an event poster.
According to an Instagram post from the Student Union Board, attendees can put a variety of items into their kit, including wrist bands, fidget toys, stickers and stress relief tea.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a heated blanket or an Iowa State winter hat.
